Oregon Black Walnut Stock Blanks for Sale

6-99-2. Oregon black, quartersawn, perfect layout for strength and stability. Rich color, particularly in the butt area. Light fiddleback through the butt as well.

30 ½” long, 6” at the butt, 1 ¾” at the front, 2 ¼” thick.

6-99-4. Oregon black. Rift sawn. I bought this as part of a lot from a retiring stockmaker who had it for many years. Bright appearance because of the light fiddleback and red/gold background color. Best as a two piece, as there is a cluster of tiny knots in the area where the recoil lug would be if used for a rifle. Very nice blank.

32” long, 5 ¾” at the butt, 1 ½” at the front, 2 ½” thick.

6-99-6. Oregon black, quartersawn. Medium/light background color with darker mineral streaks through the butt. Perfect layout.

31 ¼” long, 7” at the butt, 2” at the front. 2 ¼” thick.

7-99-3. Oregon black, quartersawn. Crotch figure in the proper area of the butt. The sapwood in the forend will be gone when worked into a stock. Nice Golden/brown background color throughout.

32” long, 6” at the butt, 1 ¾” at the front. 2 ⅜” thick.

Greg's. Black walnut. Rift sawn. Tight grain structure, yet lightweight. Good color with some figure in the butt. Age unknown, but I've had it since about 1998.

33 ½” long, 8” at the butt, 2 ¼” at the front. 2” thick.
